The purpose of this project is to determine the effect of shared book reading at the
daycare during the first three years of life on the children expressive/receptive
abilities as well as on the attitude of the caregivers towards literacy and reading, and
the correspondence between the two. We also aim to determine if shared reading at
the daycare within the first year of life facilitates the intensity and quality of shared
book reading at home and finally affects the child's linguistic and cognitive abilities.
