The Educational Neuroimaging Group (ENIG) at the Technion, led by Dr. Tzipi Horowitz-Kraus, is focused on determining the neuronal, cognitive, genetic and environmental components that underlie language and reading development in children using fMRI, DTI, EEG, fNIR and eye-tracking tools.
We are always looking for highly motivated , creative and enthusiastic graduate students (M.Sc. & Ph.D.) and post-doctoral fellows interested in Neuroimaging and the developing brain!
MSc & PhD Candidates
Qualifications
- BSc/BA/MSc degree in Neuroscience, Computer Sciences, Psychology, Software/Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong experimental, statistical (e.g., SPSS, R) and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Previous research experience in cognitive neuroscience, performing brain imaging data acquisition, cognitive assessments and signal processing – advantage!
Post-doctoral fellows
Current projects represent collaborations with Children’s hospitals in Israel and the US and focus on the fundamental of language, literacy and reading acquisitions and plasticity in healthy children and atypical developing children (illiterate children, children with dyslexia, with ADHD, with Epilepsy, with Psychiatric disorders and more).
We seek a highly motivated individual to assist and lead in all aspects of the research process, including conducting research and clinical trials, behavioral and imaging data analysis, participation in the development of articles for publication, grant writing, and the mentoring and supervision of students and research assistants.
Primary Responsibilities
- Data collection
- Analysis of neuroimaging data using SPM, AFNI, FSL, FreeSurfer or other software
- Data management
- Management of lab operations
- General research and administrative duties
Qualifications
- PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Psychology, or related fields.
- Strong experimental and statistical skills.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., shell scripting, Matlab, Python).
- Experience with data-driven techniques (e.g., ICA, graph theory).
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Prior research experience with human participants – advantage!
Data analyst
Qualifications
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Biomedical/Electrical/Computational Engineering, Neuroscience, or related field.
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Experience with standard statistical analysis (ANOVA, regression).
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, shell scripting, Matlab, R).
- Experience with multivariate analyses (PCA/ICA SVM, machine learning).
- Experience with neuroimaging techniques and data analysis (MRI, EEG, fNIRS) – advantage!
